Parlament Studentów Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej…
(The Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland)

…is the representative body of student self-governments. Student self-governments embrace obligatory all students in the country according to the university law. Student self-government are active at over 300 Polish state and private universities. They co-decide about the distribution of grants for students and student organizations within the university. They activate student cultural life and take part in elections of authorities of university departments and institutes. They influence the work of bodies deciding about schedules and progress of students and graduates on the "job market" and law consultations. The Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland:
  • inspires international exchange of students
  • makes it easy to obtain non-budget financial means for self-governments and student organizations
  • supports all activities aiming at the increase of number of students, investment of the university and increasing the level of education, reforms of programmes and progress of studies
  • represents the student community in the Main Board of Universities and organs of Polish State
  • co-decidies about the position of student community in youth movement and state policy towards youth
  • gives opinions to judgement on all law deeds concerning students

The Parliament represents over 2 millions of Polish citizens

In practice the Parliament frequently functions as self-government parliament, student association and activates student culture. The Foundation of the Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland came into being to support student culture and international co-opereations of student organizations and to promote achievements of Polish students in Poland and abroad.
